This course has just filled up BUT Watershed have said that they are still very keen for people to register their interest. If overwhelming interest and a long waiting list, more might be able to be provided by the Network for Creative Enterprise at The Stable. So, apologies you missed this one but do continue to register your interest with Watershed and we'll do what we can.
Free Watershed workshop (FULL)
Bristol's Watershed, supported by the Network for Creative Enterprise, is running a free, two-day workshop at The Stable Creative Hub on 4-5 September 2018. This is to help creative practitioners and small businesses in Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset to become more sustainable and commercially robust, and to help creative industry graduates, artists and anyone else who wants to start making money from their creative practice.
It runs for two days, on Tue 4 and Wed 5 September 2018, 10:00 until 16:00 with lunch and refreshments provided. The workshop will take you through the basics in how to get something off the ground, or to boost what you have. We’ll cover connecting with your potential customers, the right business form for you, the legal side, and how to bring in all the help you have to make this a success. We’ll take the pain out of doing this, and help you to get to where you want with confidence.
It’s run by Gill Wildman, who has two creative businesses and has done a lot of work over the past 10 years helping new creative businesses get off the ground.
In other news...
The Stable is currently set up for lap-top based people (individuals, freelancers, small businesses) who essentially rent desk space on a daily or monthly (membership) basis. It also has many light and bright meeting rooms to rent, and private offices to rent on easy terms. If you live in North Somerset and you are having difficulties finding a certain type of space to work in, perhaps studios or maker spaces, we're keen to hear from you. The Stable may or may not be able to help as we move into our expansion Phase Two developments in 2019, but just knowing who you are and what you seek is of great interest. The first step is having a real handle on numbers and demand.
Help us keep you up to date
To help us gauge the demand for different types of space in Weston and beyond - and because we hope loads of fun events and creative collaborations are going to come out of them! - it'd be great if you'd join one of the new online freelance and creative communities, links below. This way, we know who and where you are, and you can be the first to hear about funding and training opportunities, upcoming space, and useful social and event info.
