At tonight's Weston Tech social/ networking event, Meet William Britton from Weston-based tech startup AutonoMe. William recently secured a six-figure investment package to scale up his business and is keen to let you know how he did it, and to answer questions both about AutonoMe (a learning disability support provider using technology to deliver and measure outcomes) and about applying for funding yourself. He'll cover:
Having an idea
Getting the first paying client
Anything else you want to hear...
Come to hear William's story, to meet fellow techies and to explore The Stable, Weston's first coworking hub focussing on the digital, creative and tech worlds - and with private offices and meeting rooms to rent alongside the coworking element, too.
Tech Social for Weston and beyond
We are now well into our Weston Tech Meet Up evenings for the tech cluster in Weston, advertised on Meetup.com as well as here and (almost) always held on the last Thursday of the month at The Stable. It's for all those interested in all things tech in Weston and the surrounding areas with micro-introductions to new topics and people. Pop along every now and again to contribute, to learn, to meet kindred spirits and to have a nice night out in a great venue. We'd love this to become the focal social for tech types in Weston and surrounds, so, help us get there by turning up! Our inaugural session was great, Blog Post here.
What's a Meet Up?
A meet-up is a get together. A Meet Up (capital letters) is a get together that loads of like-minded people can find through the Meet Up website, if you haven't heard of that before. At this Weston Tech Meet Up, there'll be an introduction and tour of The Stable creative hub for anyone who hasn't been here yet, followed by a lightning introduction to a few key tech speakers, before opening up the floor for others to introduce themselves (optional!) and to raise any questions or topics you'd like to discuss with the group. Then it's back to salty snacks, maybe a drink, and some chatting. This is a great chance for those who work from home or elsewhere to meet up with fellow tech-friendly people on the doorstep, right here in Weston. You're out there, I know you are, as our first Weston Tech Meet Up in association with TechSpark Bristol proved.
Just come along, totally informal evenings and it'd be great to see some new faces each month, there were around 20 people at the first one alone which is a great turn out. If you want to see discussions or speakers on certain topics, just get in touch via email with The Stable or via the Meet Up messaging or Discussion board.
If you are really keen to add your own Meet Up events to the Weston Tech Meet Up group, just let me know we'll share admin rights to the group.
