Are you a social entrepreneur?

The School for Social Entrepreneurs Dartington is delighted to announce that applications are now open for two innovative new course aimed at social entrepreneurs in Bristol and the West of England. The Social Entrepreneurs Start Up Bristol 2018 Programme is a seven-day course, spread over five months, specially designed to help social enterprises in the early stages. The Trade Up Booster is a three-day programme designed to support trading social enterprises to take the next steps and increase their trading. Please help us to promote these opportunities by circulating information to your networks.

Start Up Five Day Course

Application deadline 1 October 2018. The course will run over seven days from November 2018 to March 2019 is for social enterprises that are in the planning stages but ready to start, or less than two years old. Successful applicants will learn how to set values, vision and a mission for their social enterprise, as well as learning how to conduct market research and identify customers. In action-learning sessions they will also learn about business planning, costing and pricing and how to measure their social impact.

Trade Up course (for existing social enterprises)

Application deadline 7 September 2018. The brand new course, which will run over three days in October and November 2018 is for social enterprises that have been actively trading for a year. Successful applicants will learn how to develop their business plans, increase income streams, improve leadership skills and grow their customer bases. This is a great opportunity for social enterprises that are looking to grow and develop in the Bristol area. The students will benefit from a practical, hands-on, action learning approach designed to develop their leadership and business skills. The students will have a unique opportunity to participate in sessions delivered by business experts and experienced social entrepreneurs and be supported by a network of like-minded individuals.

Fully funded courses

Both courses are fully funded and are fantastic opportunities for social enterprises in the Bristol and West of England area. The courses will run in Bristol and places are limited and we expect them to be extremely popular, so we would advise anyone who is interested to apply as soon as possible.

  • Social enterprises and charities operating in Bristol and the West of England
  • ERDF eligible sector
  • Not for private profit
  • Not had 12 hours of support under the Social Enterprise Innovation Programme.
