Media Release: Start-up business ‘Pop-Up’ event comes to The Stable
On 14 March 2018, The Stable Creative Hub in Weston-super-Mare will host a free ‘Growth Accelerator’ pop-up event for the region’s start-up and business communities, supported by the West of England Growth Hub.
Manager of The Stable, Kerry O’Neill, said, “This is going to be a fast-paced and dynamic day that we hope many of Weston’s forward-thinking start-ups and entrepreneurs will attend.
“Workshops on the day will be led by investment and growth experts from KPMG, NatWest, Engine Shed and crowdfunding platform FundSurfer.
“It’s designed to help Weston’s freelancers, start-ups and existing businesses get solid practical advice on how to grow their businesses most effectively.”
Sam Bell, from event sponsors the West of England Growth Hub, said, “Many from North Somerset commute to Bristol for high-calibre events like this.
“At the Growth Hub, we’re committed to supporting business growth across North Somerset and the whole West of England region. The recent opening of The Stable Creative Hub, both in terms of the building and its collaborative ethos, is the perfect space to host events like this.”
Sessions at the 14 March event will be delivered by experts including:
- Oliver Mochizuki, CEO and co-founder of FundSurfer.
- Briony Phillips, the Engine Shed’s Scale-Up Enabler;
- Andy Light, the NatWest’s Business Growth Enabler for Somerset; and
- Steve Lovell, NatWest’s Business Growth Enabler for Bristol and Bath.
O’Neill continued, “The Stable is starting to attract new freelancers and businesses, with members so far from the tech, creative and digital marketing industries.
“New social and networking events such as our monthly ‘Weston Tech’ socials on MeetUp.com and our twice-monthly Cake + Chat drop-in sessions on Wednesday afternoons are starting to attract many likeminded people, keen to become members of Weston’s new coworking space.
“The Stable has a further 300m2 opening for business later in 2018 and enquires are welcomed from any interested individuals or businesses.”
Tickets to the event are free to encourage people at all stages of their idea or business development to attend, and hot and cold refreshments will be available on the day.
Other upcoming events at The Stable Creative Hub include a free Google Digital Garage digital training day on 12 April, further tech Meet Ups, and regular social and networking events, see www.thestableweston.com/en/events for more info.
